Lion Family Safari to South AfricaThis itinerary combines the enchanting and other-worldly destination of Madagascar with its endearing lemurs, chameleons and forests with easy-going South Africa on safari in search of the Big Five and other wildlife of the African bush. The Madagascar section takes you the rainforest of Andasibe, home to the Indri – the largest lemur with its haunting call – as well as mouse lemurs and many other species; then to the riverine- and strange spiny forests of Berenty where ring tailed lemurs and ‘dancing’ Verreaux’s sifakas can be seen easily. Then hop over to South Africa for magical African safari experiences and a touch of luxury to end a wonderful family wildlife holiday.

 Day 
  1. Depart London.
  2. Arrive Jo'burg. Connect to Antananarivo (Tana), Madagascar. Met and transfer to Analamazaotra (Andasibe-Mantadia) National Park. Night walk to find nocturnal wildlife such as mouse lemurs and geckos. O/n Vakona Lodge, FB.
  3. Morning wildlife walk in Mantadia National Park for black and white ruffed lemurs and more. Nocturnal wildlife walk. O/n Vakona Lodge, FB.
  4. Morning wildlife walk in the Perinet section of Analamazaotra rainforest to find the Indri and other lemurs. O/n Vakona Lodge, FB.
  5. Drive to Tana. Fly to Jo'burg. O/n Southern Sun O.R.Tambo, BB.
  6. Charter flight to Sabi Sands. Afternoon on safari in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. O/n Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, FB.
  7. Enjoy safari activities in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. O/n Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, FB.
  8. Another day on safari in search of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, rhino and other African wildlife in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. O/n Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, FB.
  9. A final day of game drives in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. O/n Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, FB.
  10. Fly back to Jo'burg. Then depart South Africa.
  11. Arrive London.

From £4280 per adult and £2635 per child sharing double/twin/family rooms and including international flights. 

Prices are based on 2 adults and 2 children under 12yrs. Please contact us for a definitive quote based on your family's requirements.

NB: Flights are based on South African Airwaysto Antananarivo via Jo'burg, returning direct from Jo'burg.  Cheaper flights may be possible - usually with more connections - by using other airlines.  We can quote based on any airline and will be pleased to discuss the options.
