PraslinSecond largest of the Seychelles islands and lying 45km from Mahe, granitic Praslin boasts the World Heritage Site of Vallee de Mai, containing the endemic black parrot, Wright’s skink and Seychelles chameleon as well as the unique coco de mer palm forest. The curiously pelvic-shaped female nut is the largest on Earth, while the male palm displays similarly human-like attributes. Along the coast are secluded bays guarded by smoothly eroded granite boulders - some of the most beautiful beaches found anywhere. Offshore lie the nature reserves of Aride, Cousin, Curieuse and Cousine with many rare bird species, and the islet of Ste Pierre giving superb snorkelling. |
A gently paced, relaxing tour ideal for younger children, visiting two of the loveliest islands Suited to adventurous families with older children, this programme combines three wonderfully different locations. Lovely Cerf is only a few minutes from the main island, Mahe, yet feels well away from it all while providing very comfortable resort facilities. A private beachfront villa awaits you on Praslin, where you walk in the fabulous palm forests of Vallee de Mai and visit three island wildlife reserves. The coral island of Desroches provides the grand finale, part of a wild Indian Ocean atoll with great snorkelling and diving, offering plenty of scope for exploration and family beachcombing before flying home.
