  1. Depart London. Arrive Antananarivo (Tana). O/n Relais des Plateaux, BB.
  2. Tfr by road to Analamazaotra (aka Périnet). Evening wildlife walk. O/n Andasibe Hotel, FB.
  3. Morning in Mantadia National Park. Afternoon/evening wildlife walks. O/n Andasibe Hotel, FB.
  4. Morning walk in Périnet for indri. Visit Orchid Park. O/n Andasibe Hotel, FB.
  5. Tfr to Tana airport. Fly to Fort Dauphin. Tfr Mandrare River Camp via Lac Anony, sand dunes, transitional forest to spiny forest. O/n Mandrare River Camp, FI.
  6. Full day of excursions from Mandrare River Camp including gallery forest and spiny forest. O/n Mandrare River Camp, FI.
  7. Morning, afternoon and evening excursions from Mandrare River Camp as desired. Learn about the wildlife and local Antandroy culture. O/n Mandrare River Camp, FI.
  8. Morning excursion. Charter flight to Manafiafy.  Afternoon at leisure with included and optional excursions. O/n Manafiafy Beach & Rainforest Lodge, FI.

Important Notes

IMPORTANT NOTE (1): Despite recent improvements, Madagascar still has some accommodation of a low standard, and a poor infrastructure including unreliable domestic flights and communications, and rough roads.  Although we try to choose the best areas for families, many are isolated and far from medical and other services. Trails can be strenuous, campsites and park huts basic.  Bookings are only accepted if the client accepts Reef and Rainforest Tours has done everything in its power to ensure there are no difficulties, but has limited control over standards of equipment, availability of accommodation and other services, airline and hotel reservation policies, flight schedule changes or breakdowns in communications.


IMPORTANT NOTE (2): Each location generally has limited satisfactory hotels, and international and domestic flights often fill early. Because increases in hotel beds and flight seats have not kept up with visitor numbers, early booking for tailor-made tours is advisable to secure desired itineraries, particularly during high season (from late May to mid November). Some waitlisted nights are to be expected if booking less than 18 months in advance. Waitlists usually clear prior to departure.  We do our utmost to secure accommodation specified in your itinerary, but alternative accommodation will be offered and must be accepted by you in the unlikely event  waitlisted nights do not clear. Your booking is conditional on your understanding and acceptance of this situation.
