Certain exceptional locations have been perennially popular with families visiting Costa Rica: the active Arenal volcano, the Quaker settlement of Monteverde with its cloud forests and canopy tours, and Manuel Antonio, where the verdant jungle meets the golden Pacific shore (here you have a hire 4x4 car). We have brought all these together into one classic programme, packed with things to do and see and using tried and trusted accommodation. You really can’t go wrong.

 

 

 

 Day
  1. Depart London. Arrive San Jose. Tfr to hotel. O/n Bougainvillea Hotel, BB.
  2. Morning visit to Inbioparque. City tour of San Jose and Gold Museum. O/n Bougainvillea Hotel, BB.
  3. Tfr to Arenal volcano area. Perhaps walk trails of lodge’s private reserve. O/n Arenal Observatory Lodge, FB.
  4. Morning guided walk at Arenal Hanging Bridges. Afternoon at leisure. O/n Arenal Observatory Lodge, FB.
  5. Full day at leisure. Optional: zip-lining canopy tour, horse riding, rafting,  thermal springs. O/n Arenal Observatory Lodge, FB.
  6. Tfr by boat via Arenal Lake and road to Monteverde. Afternoon at leisure. O/n Fonda Vela Hotel, BB.
  7. Morning private guided walk in Monteverde cloud forest reserve. Afternoon at leisure. Optional: zip-lining, canopy walkway, village visit, butterfly garden, lodge trails, frog pond, serpentarium. O/n Fonda Vela Hotel, BB.
  8. Morning tfr to Manuel Antonio area. Afternoon at leisure. O/n Tulemar Bungalows, BB.
