Central Pacific Coast

The popular middle section of Costa Rica’s extensive Pacific coast, with its beaches and national parks a relatively short distance from the capital city, possesses a number of wonderful locations and good hotels.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Located in one of the more popular coastal regions, the rainforested national park of Manuel Antonio is nevertheless set apart from the busy beaches and numerous hotels which line the road leading from Quepos, the nearby town. Plenty of wildlife can be seen on walks along the many trails, after which a swim in the refreshing Pacific waters is recommended to cool down - easily done since the forest comes right down to the beach.

Tulemar Bungalows
The hotel consists of spacious, well-appointed, self-contained bungalows attractively set on a hillside with wide ocean views, a/c, TV and VCR, room safes, telephones, kitchenettes, swimming pool and snack bar.  It also benefits from its own small, private beach set in a secluded cove, from where use of kayaks is included, and there is a small network of private nature trails.

It would be very hard to beat this tour for its wide diversity and exceptional value.  From the wildlife-rich lowland rainforests of the Caribbean coast, ascend to an historical ranch-cum-lodge at 11,000 feet to marvel at a forest-clad, active volcano whose crater can be reached by horse, bike or on foot. Lastly, travel to the dry forest zone of Nicoya and a well-run beach resort with great family villas, excellent food and friendly service. A fine recipe for good memories. Find out more...
