Easter School Holidays
Often falling in April but sometimes late March, Easter is normally a hot and dry time for our Central America destinations: Belize, Costa Rica and Honduras.
April is the driest month in Borneo and a very good time to visit.
Although on the cusp between the wet and dry seasons, Easter can also be a good time to travel to the Galapagos Islands, the Seychelles and Madagascar.
Summer School Holidays
From late June to early September, the weather is generally fine in Borneo, and in the Indian Ocean: thus, also a very good time to visit the Seychelles and Madagascar.
June to August is peak season for the Galapagos Islands (avoid September and go as early as possible from June) and can be windy and cool.
August can often be a dry-ish month in Belize, Costa Rica and Honduras but avoid September, which is the start of the hurricane season in Central America.
Christmas School Holidays
The Christmas and New Year period is an excellent time for the south west and central highlands of Sri Lanka the areas most visited being between the monsoons.
It is one of the best times for a Galapagos family cruise: mostly warm and sunny, with good water visibility and the occasional shower.
December and January are good months for Central American destinations, being the beginning of the dry season, when the weather is not too hot and there may be refreshing breezes.

School holidays, as well as being the times when most families take their vacations, also coincide with the peak holiday periods for the public at large. Long before these periods, high season flights and the better hotels and lodges usually fill quickly.
Therefore, it is strongly advisable to book your trip as early as practicable, to take advantage of availability before it disappears and thus avoid disappointment.
If your children are of pre-school age, there is far more scope for travelling off-peak, and thus more flexibility and lower airfares. If not, please remember to book early.
