Ideally suited to families with younger children who enjoy a gentle pace and a high degree of comfort.  The two luxury beach resorts offer doorstep wildlife watching, safe beaches and family-friendly facilities; the waterways of the Kinabatangan River will provide myriad sightings of wild orang-utans and other rainforest creatures;  Selingan Island affords unforgettable encounters with egg-laying turtles, whilst Sepilok gives a good insight into the lives of orang-utans. Wildlife  and beach relaxation in perfect harmony.

 

 Day 

1. Depart London.
2. Arrive Kuala Lumpur and connect with flight to Kota Kinabalu. Tfr to hotel. O/n Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort, BB.
3. Full day at leisure. Optional:  snorkelling, rainforest walks, watersports, swimming. O/n Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort, BB.
4. Full day at leisure. O/n Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort, BB.
5. Fly to Sandakan. Board boat to island. Evening turtle watching. O/n Selingan Island, BB.
6. Return to Sandakan and tfr to Sepilok for morning orang-utan feeding. Boat along the Kinabatangan River to Sukau. Afternoon wildlife boat trip. O/n Sukau Rainforest Lodge, FB.
7. Exploration of waterways by boat and on foot. O/n Sukau Rainforest Lodge, FB.
8. Exploration of waterways by boat and on foot. O/n Sukau Rainforest Lodge, FB.
9. Return to Sandakan by boat. Fly to Kota Kinabalu. Tfr to hotel. O/n Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, BB.
10. Full day at leisure. Optional: visit Kinabalu National Park and/or Poring Hot Springs, local markets, swimming. O/n Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, BB.
11. Full day at leisure. O/n Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, BB.
12. Full day at leisure. O/n Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, BB.
13. Depart Kota Kinabalu. Connect at Kuala Lumpur.
14. Arrive London.
